I have a strong interest in World War Two including the social and political factors and the actual atrocities experienced, however I am open to looking at other ideas as well.

  1. With atrocities, as you looking at those committed by Germans or other nations?
One immediately comes to mind, Katyn in Poland. Is was actually a Soviet massacre, when the Germans found it, they rightly blamed the Soviets. When the Soviets later liberated the area, they blamed the Germans, and at the time, the Allies accepted the Soviet point of view. The whole area is very interesting.
